Not so with their logo, however. I thought that Nickelodeon's splat logo was highly original and inventive, never mind the ugly Balloon font used. I liked the way the logo would move around, in promos or in that corner of the screen.

But it's all gone now--sometime last year, Nickelodeon USA totally redesigned the logo for a more corporate branding look, doing away with the splat and replacing the Balloon typeface with a rounded, all lowercase font; the only thing retained was the bright orange color.
I got a look at the new logo when Nickelodeon Asia started using it a few months ago, and boy, is it ugly. I'm pretty sure management had their reasons for the change, but it's just not the same. The new logo simply isn't as eye-catching and dynamic when you see it onscreen.
Kids won't probably mind the change, but I think the ones who grew up watching Nickelodeon shows will hate it--I mean, I'm not even a Nickelodeon viewer and I hate it, heh. Whatever, this should be counted as one of those logo redesign fails.
